DEAR SUGAR…Tiny Beautiful Things Full Cast Revealed

Get ready for an extraordinary theatrical experience as TINY BEAUTIFUL THINGS makes its highly anticipated Philippine debut this November 2024. This heartwarming and powerful play, based on the best-selling book by Cheryl Strayed, has captured hearts worldwide through its stage adaptation by My Big Fat Greek Wedding star Nia Vardalos. The story chronicles the journey of Strayed as Sugar, an anonymous advice columnist whose radical empathy transforms lives.
Set to run from November 16 to December 8 at the Power Mac Center Spotlight Black Box Theater in Circuit Makati, the show brings to life real letters and true stories of people seeking guidance, love, and healing. At the heart of the production is Calzado, who will portray Sugar, guiding the audience through the emotional rollercoaster of her correspondence.
She will be joined by a stellar ensemble of actors who will lend voices to the letter writers, including the multi-awarded Rody Vera, the versatile Gabby Padilla, and the beloved comedian-actor Ketchup Eusebio. Theater enthusiasts will also be treated to performances by Regina De Vera and Brian Sy, both Gawad Buhay awardees who bring depth and passion to their roles.
The Cast
  • Rody Vera: A pillar of Philippine theater, Vera is an award-winning playwright and actor, with standout performances in Otelo, Rak of Aegis, and Old Gaze.
  • Gabby Padilla: A rising star in film and theater, she recently earned the Best Actress Award at Cinemalaya 2024 for Kono Basho.
  • Ketchup Eusebio: Making his return to the stage, Eusebio brings a dynamic career spanning two decades in films like Ang Tanging Ina and Heneral Luna.
  • Regina De Vera: A Juilliard-trained actress and director, De Vera has graced international stages and made her directorial debut in the Philippines.
  • Brian Sy: A sought-after actor, Sy has captivated audiences with his award-winning performances in Coriolano and Lungs.
Behind the Scenes
The play will be directed by the brilliant Jenny Jamora, a Gawad Buhay awardee. Joining her in this exciting production are assistant director Marcel David, set designer Kayla Teodoro, lighting director Kiefer Sison, and many more talented individuals making up the artistic and production teams. The show is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.
