Nagi Sushi, the newest gem in the Nagi Group’s culinary crown, embarked on a grand culinary journey during its much-anticipated opening. In a vibrant and spectacular event, the doors to Nagi Sushi swung wide open, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the heart of authentic Japanese dining. However, what set this occasion apart was not just the promise of mouthwatering sushi and ramen; it was the extraordinary “Art of Sushi Masterclass.” This unforgettable experience was led by none other than the esteemed Chef Oshikiri, who took us on a voyage through the art and precision of sushi-making. The scene was set for an evening filled with flavors, techniques, and the rich traditions of Japan.
The Art of Sushi Masterclass served as a journey of both education and culinary delight where Chef Oshikiri displayed his culinary mastery in Japanese cuisine and sushi, honed through years of dedication at the Tsukiji fish market, the world’s largest sushi marketplace.
Attendees had the privilege of witnessing his brilliance and passion for Japanese culture and had the opportunity to learn the precision of sushi knife skills, discover the perfection of sushi rice, and explore the artistry behind Nagi Sushi’s two distinct styles of sushi.
Chef Oshikiri’s sushi-making demonstration underscored what sets Nagi Sushi apart from other sushi restaurants. Nagi Sushi selects the finest Japanese tuna and salmon for its sushi, ensuring each fish is chosen for its freshness and fat content. These top-quality ingredients are air-flown directly from Japan and meticulously processed by the chef with precision.
Nagi Sushi also takes immense pride in its menu, offering sushi in two distinct forms. The first is the Edomae-style, which preserves the pristine state of the fish, resulting in a melt-in-your-mouth experience with each bite. The second is the Temaki-style, expertly hand-rolled to perfection — and both of which are made fresh to order.
Furthermore, Nagi Sushi boasts of top-tier flavors and intricate layers. The seasoned sushi rice, crafted from Koshikari rice and seasoned with traditional “aka-zu” vinegar, imparts a rich umami taste to each dish. The high-quality nori, sourced from Tsutaken Shoten in Yokohama, adds a delightful crispy texture and robust flavor that enhances the Nagi Sushi experience. Last but not least, the indispensable Hon Wasabi, sourced from Kaneku, seamlessly combines tradition and innovation to elevate the dining experience.
Erickson Farillas, the visionary behind the Nagi Group, expressed their enthusiasm, “Nagi Sushi is a place where you can come to experience the true essence of Japanese culture, from the food to the atmosphere. We want our guests to feel like they are stepping into another world when they enter our restaurant, and we hope that they leave feeling refreshed, inspired, and connected to the heart of Japan.”
As part of the Nagi Group, Nagi Sushi has been meticulously conceived with the innovative concept of combining two of the best Japanese dishes: Ramen and Sushi. This means that Nagi Sushi is also serving all types of ramen from Ramen Nagi, allowing its diners to indulge in a diverse and exquisite range of Japanese culinary treasures.
