Pageant News: Miss South Africa Crowned Miss Universe 2019

South Africa’s Zozibini Tunzi is crowned Miss Universe 2019 at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. She bested 89 other candidates.
On the final round, the candidates were asked: What is the most important thing we should teach young girls today? And her winning answer was:
I think the most important thing we should be teaching young girls today is LEADERSHIP. It’s something that has been lacking in young girls and women for a very long time, not because we want to, but because of what society has labeled women to be. I think we are the most powerful beings in the world and we should be given every opportunity. Nothing is more important as taking up space in society and cementing yourself.

Miss Mexico,  Sofia Aragon was adjudged 2nd Runner Up while Miss Puerto Rico, Madison Anderson Berrios finished 1st Runner Up.
Philippine pride Catriona Gray is the reigning Miss Universe. Dressed in a glittery blue gown from Mak Tumang, she acknowledged the love she’s been receiving especially from her ‘kababayans’. Part of her speech goes:
To everyone with a dream, know that dreams are valid. And on your path you are never denied, only redirected.
