Quezon Memorial Circle: A Green Oasis and Cultural Hub in the Heart of Quezon City

In a significant step towards urban revitalization, Mayor Joy Belmonte of Quezon City recently convened with Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco to discuss an ambitious proposal. The plan aims to transform the historic Quezon Memorial Circle into a vibrant green haven, blending public enjoyment with cultural enrichment.
This comprehensive masterplan envisions the 27-hectare historical park as a dynamic recreational destination, serving as both an urban renewal project and a space where history, culture, and community can flourish harmoniously. As the project unfolds, it aspires to boost local and international tourism, creating a verdant oasis within the city while paying homage to its rich heritage.

Secretary Frasco expressed enthusiasm, stating, “This is clearly one prime example of an LGU-driven initiative that deserves national government support—an initiative that serves as a pivotal intersection of quality of life for your constituents.”

Key figures present at the meeting included Quezon City Administrator Mike Alimurung, City Architect Lucille Chua, and representatives from the Department of Tourism, emphasizing the collaborative effort towards a greener, culturally vibrant Quezon City.
